Hi,

I bought a washer and dryer at 'Butt Buy' and before I signed the deal, was assured by the salesman that it would be no problem to have the units delivered and installed in my third floor apartment. The day the delivery guys showed up they said that I needed to sign a form for the goods stating that they were delivered in good condition. I said I would after they carried them up and installed them. Then the guy said, "We can't be responsible for any damages for carrying goods up past the second floor" I told them that this was a condition of sale which was confirmed by the Butt Buy salesman. The delivery guys were not impressed so I called the store manager and was told that the delivery company is a third party and that they (BB) don't have any authority over them. So you see, the salesman promised something just to sell the product. I told the delivery guys to either carry the stuff up or take it back to the warehouse. They grudgingly brought the goods up and lo and behold, there was a dent in the washer! I saw this and refused to sign the paper stating the goods were OK. They said I have to sign. I laughed and told them they can either leave or carry the stuff back down. They took the paperwork and left. They also had the wrong power cord so I had to go to BB and get the right one and install the dryer myself anyway.
